What is the mission of the Warrenton Youth Soccer Club? The founders of WYSC created the league as a place where children of all ages and abilities could learn about sports while having fun. The emphasis is on learning, teamwork and sportsmanship.
All-Star programs are run every season by recreational leagues all around northern Viriginia, including WYSC. Recreational soccer players wishing for extra training and competition try out for an all-star program. Selected players and coaches have a weekly scheduled practice in addition to their regular recreational commitments. After the end of the standard season, teams compete in a tournament exclusively featuring other all-star teams.
Participation in All-Star programs includes special jersey/socks, extra training, and tournament entry. If you have any questions, please email WYSC at info@wysc.org. We are seeking coaches for the All-Star teams, please email us if you have interest in coaching.
The all-star program runs roughly as follows:
Around mid rec-season, all-star tryouts are held.
Invitations are emailed directly to selected players
Invited players have an additional practice on Saturdays with their travel teams (in addition to the recreational team until tournament time)
About 2-3 weeks after the end of the rec season, teams travel to an All-Star tournament
UPCOMING ALL-STAR TRYOUTS
October 13th, WYSC will hold an All-Star tryout for U12 Boys. More information will be posted as it comes available! Keep an eye out for an email invitation to the registration page! The tryout time is 3pm. The tryouts is for any player interested, who is a rec/travel, seasoned/new.
