What is the mission of the Warrenton Youth Soccer Club? The founders of WYSC created the league as a place where children of all ages and abilities could learn about sports while having fun. The emphasis is on learning, teamwork and sportsmanship.

Policy CHANGE: Spring 2014, WYSC has decided to modify the "Playing Up" rule to reduce the number or players allowed "Playing up".  For the 2014-2015 travel season only ONE player per team for all teams U11 and up teams may play up. New players invited to participate with any WYSC team will need to be playing at age appropriate division.


Policy CHANGE: Spring 2013, WYSC has decided to modify the "Playing Up" rule. and reduce the number or players allowed "Playing up" to two per teams formed before the 2012 - 2013 travel season. New players invited to participate with any WYSC team will needd to be playing at age approciate division. New players will not be allowed to be "Play Up" on U12 or older teams.

Policy CHANGE: In the Fall of 2011, WYSC implemented a new policy requiring all new players joining a team to be the appropriate age for the team division. After internal discussion, WYSC has decided to modify this policy to allow each team  three possible positions for players playing up.  

 
Team Requirements / Policies
  • All travel players must be registered with WYSC's "Travel Soccer" program. 
  • Coaches must adhere to WYSC's travel team coaching responsibilities and must be in good standing with WYSC.
  • Each travel team must have  the following minimum team rosters:
    • U10 ------ 12 players
    • U11 & U12 ------ 14 players
    • U13 and older -- 16 Players
  • Each newly formed team will receive a coach's equipment bag.
  • Each team will be required to provide 1 representative to the "Travel Steering Committee"  
  • Every parent is required to volunteer some time to all WYSC's travel tournaments and Scrimmage Fest. 
  • Each team is required to provide 2 certified referees. Each referee is required to work no less than 4 travel games each season. One of the two referee must be able to center travel games.
  • Attend club selected pre-season tournaments.
Coaches Certification:


All Travel Coaches must hold an age appropriate coaching certification as follows;

  • Under-11 - Coach must have an "D" certification
  • Under-12 and older -  Coach must hold no less than a state "D" certification.
  • Coaches will have a one season grace period to obtain certification after accepting coaching position on a travel team.

 

Uniforms
  • Each fall, every registered travel player will receive 2 full uniforms with player number.
  • Teams are required to wear WYSC official travel uniforms at all games, home and away..
Replacement Uniform Orders
  • Jersey $35.00, each. includes number
  • Shorts $20.00, each, includes number
  • Socks $10.00 per pair

Travel Soccer Practices
  • Practices will generally start one month prior to the start of the travel league game schedule.
  • Each team will be allocated two weekly practices.
  • Each practice can be 90 minutes. Based on field availability,  teams can request to schedule additional practices, or hold practices up to two hours in duration.

Note: Practice days may change if a coaching conflict exists

How Are Games Canceled?
  • Travel games may only be canceled and rescheduled by Warrenton Youth Sports Club, or by the Center Referee at game time due to inclement weather or poor field conditions. Games canceled without prior approval of WYSC will not be rescheduled.
  • Once WYSC has decided to cancel a game, the team will need to provide WYSC with three optional dates to reschedule the game. Please remember that travel leagues may give you a maximum of 72 hours to notify the league of the new game schedule. Getting your three optional dates to WYSC quickly will help you provide the travel league with the new schedule within the 72 hour limit.
Teams not adhering to any of the above requirements will be place in bad standing with WYSC.


Teams placed in bad standing with WYSC; 

  • Will loose access to practice time at the Athey complex. The team's practice will be move to alternate fields
  • Possibly be denied future sponsorship by WYSC
